Kraz Sargas (pronounced: Kraz SAR-goss) is a Rephaite and the blood-heir, or heir apparent to the blood-sovereignty, of the Rephaim.

Biography[]

History[]

Kraz comes from a proud and respected family of scholars. Like many of the other Rephaim, Kraz arrived on Earth from the Netherworld in 1859. Kraz is Kathryn's Rephaite keeper in Sheol I. He lives at the Residence of the Heir in Sheol I.

The Bone Season[]

Kraz is first mentioned when Warden and Paige Mahoney happen upon a red-jacket who has been severely wounded by an Emite outside the Rookery. Another red-jacket tells Warden that they got lost in the woods while hunting the Emite. He asks who was in charge of them, and the red-jacket replies that the the blood-heir was. Warden mutters to himself that of course he was.

Paige is discovered stealing supplies in the House by Kraz. He smashes Paige into a wall, almost knocking her unconscious. He then feeds on her aura. Paige stabs Kraz in the eye so he drops her. She then grabs the vial of poppy anemone, the only thing that can hurt Rephaim, and smashes it against his face. It immediately causes Kraz's sarx to begin rotting. His eyes blacken and drip from his face. His sarx turns an ugly, mottled gray. Paige shoot him knowing he can't be saved. His corpse is found quickly by Nashira Sargas and the other Rephs. Since Rephaim cannot mortally die, he is what is known as sequestered. His body will not rot and his dreamscape remains in the æther. He is essentially eternally imprisoned, not truly dead but not truly alive either.

Physical Description[]

Kraz looks similar to Nashira. He has thick, brassy hair and hooded eyelids. He has smoky, chartreuse yellow eyes, except for when he's fed on aura. Like all Rephaim, Kraz is incredibly tall and strong. He wears black clothes and gloves.

Personality[]

Kraz has a contemptuous view of human worth. When the day of the Rephaim's exposure came, Kraz planned to lure human children into the Rephaim's control cities because he has a penchant for their small, fine bones as an osteomancer for his cleromancy. He is arrogant.
