Agatha owns a store called Agatha's Boutique in the Stables Market of Camden, also known as II-4. She is also a kidsman in the London syndicate. She is a speaking medium.

Biography[]

History[]

Agatha took in Ivy Jacob when she was starving. She became Ivy's kidsman, and Ivy is like a daughter to her. When Ivy was captured by Scion, she thought she had run away and had everyone she could out searching for her. When she couldn't find her, she knew Scion must have grabbed her. Her boutique is built above the II-4 bolthole, and she's been in charge of it for years. Agatha has never liked the Rag and Bone Man. She's met him once or twice.

The Mime Order[]

After escaping from Sheol I and the Tower, Ivy, Jos, Nell, and Felix make their way to Agatha's and she hides them in the bolthole. She will protect Ivy from the Rag and Bone Man. Agatha is currently responsible for twenty gutterlings.

Agatha does not feed her gutterlings well. She gives them rice milk and bloaters, which are nasty little fish from the canal. Jos gives the bloaters to Agatha's cat. Meanwhile, Agatha herself has a huge slice of pie and a whole spice cake every night.

Paige spys Agatha at the Abbesses's den. Agatha tells the Abbess that she had to "get rid of" two of the Sheol I escapees because they were screaming in their sleep about monsters and had broken dreamscapes. The Abbess's mollisher, the Monk, shoots her.

Physical Description[]

Agatha is a bony, elderly woman wrapped in a white lace shawl. To match her aura, she's gonna fluorescent green. She wears her green-dyed hair in a razor cut, has green nails, and uses green mascara and lipstick. To an amaurotic she sounds like a chain-smoker, but a voyant knows her voice sounds the way it does because she has been ill-treated by spirits. She has a persistent, carving cough. Her throat is so damaged, it won't be long before she becomes mute.

Personality[]

Agatha is kind enough and does the best she can with the situations she finds herself in, like four weak and wounded voyants suddenly appearing on her doorstep. Ivy says she's not like other kidsmen. Agatha is kind to Ivy but quite strict with the others. If they don't bring back fifty pounds a night, they don't get supper.
